A Hand Up; Not a Hand Out!

Friends of the Homeless

Friends of the Homeless want to be a part of the solution.  God calls on us to (1) Love God; and then (2) Love Our Neighbor!  By contributing to the Matthew 2540 Project, you enable us to assist our homeless and near homeless friends in their quest to step out of their current condition and become happy, healthy, contributing members of society.  Monthly recurring donations provide funds for job training, life skill training, deposits for housing, public transportation to get to a job, daycare and so much more!

If you are a Friend of the Homeless, you give what you can on a monthly basis.  Remember, our goal is to give a hand up to our friends on the streets as opposed to a hand out.  We believe in teaching a man to fish, rather than just handing out the fish.  Even the smallest contribution can be a hand up:

  • $5 per month helps us provide fees for obtaining lost identification documents which enables a person to get a job, rent an apartment, qualify for public aid.
  • $10 per month helps us provide public transportation to work or the hospital.
  • $25 per month helps us provide educational classes on job skills and life skills; temporary income while our friends attend job training/skill classes and obtain certificates which enable them to find full-time work; mentoring.
  • $100 per month helps us provide emergency housing for the seriously ill, childcare while an individual gets established on a job, assistance with deposits for housing.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity.

Please consider recurring donations.
No amount is too small to make a difference!
